Indeed, this cooler weather has brought in a lovely feeling of comfort, joy, and overall happiness with the progressing holiday season. Every Friday, we try to take a break from our regularly-scheduled programming to bring you some fun-filled events taking place in the area, and this week’s lineup is nothing short of October at its finest! It’s Chili Cookoff Season

One thing about Texans is that we take pride in our food. Some items such as barbecue, Tex-Mex, and of course, chili are staples of our diets, and we take our recipes very seriously. After all, we love to put our heart and soul into food!

This first event is one that just feels right this time of the year. This Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Conroe Roller Derby will be hosting their second-annual chili cookoff at Southern Star Brewing Co.

Located at 3525 N. Frazier Street in Conroe, TX, this event is one you do not want to miss. It will feature chili, beer, live music, vendors, and prizes. Presale tickets are available for $10 or $15 for the day-of, and vendor tables are $25. Come show Conroe what you’ve got, or simply come out to enjoy some tasty food with the rest of your community. Family-Friendly Fall Fun Fest

If you are looking to celebrate the spooky season with your family, then you are in luck! This Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the City of Conroe Parks is presenting Fall Fun Fest at Carl Barton Jr. Park.

Halloween Street Fest

A few community blogs ago we featured Dragon Bowl-C Noodle Bar as they took Conroe by storm. Now they are back for Halloween Street Fest! This is a first-time event featuring food vendors, fun, and cosplay costume contests! There are three categories that will be judged – kids, teens, and adults – and all costumes are welcome but anime is preferred. Check out the event page here to learn more about it.
