Back teeth can be affected by pressure in the ears, especially pain on the same side as an ear that feels blocked or congested. Pay special attention as colds and sinus infections clear up, to make sure the tooth pain also goes away.

Sensitive teeth can happen to anyone, but are more common, perhaps surprisingly, in younger adults and women. The outer layer of the tooth does not have nerve endings, so tooth pain may signal that protective layer is breached by an opening (such as a tooth fracture or cavity.) If infection is encroaching on the inner layer, such as the pulp, pain can be felt.
