FAQs Regarding Porcelain Veneers
Question: Will my porcelain veneers last very long? I’m really worried that they will fracture or break as soon as I have them placed.
Answer: We understand your concern – porcelain seems like it will be quite fragile. However, we craft veneers out of layers of porcelain, offering exceptional long-term wear and durability. In fact, your veneers may last as long as 20 years!
Question: Is it difficult to take care of porcelain veneers? I don’t know if I want to deal with complicated product purchases and daily hygiene.
Answer: No, caring for your veneers is actually just like taking care of your natural smile. You will need to avoid abrasive products like harsh toothpastes or hard-bristle brushes. Just brush two times a day (two minutes each time you brush) making sure your toothbrush has soft bristles. Floss once a day. Very simple.
Question: Should I feel concerned about my veneers becoming stained? Do I need to protect them?
Answer: Porcelain veneers are excellent at resisting stains. However, discoloration is still possible. The answer? Brush and floss daily. Rinse after meals – particularly if you eating staining foods – and then brush 30 minutes after you rinse for extra protection against stains.
