For now, a little preliminary help may be of use.

Am I Supposed To Brush My Tongue?

Yes, indeed, you are supposed to brush your tongue! You should be doing this every day, in addition to the other parts of your dental hygiene that are required of you daily: Brushing (2x) and flossing (1x). If this sounds like something you feel unsure about, feel free to ask us more during your next preventive care visit. For now, remember to gently brush the surface of your tongue or to rely on a tongue scraper (which is gentler than it sounds).

Am I Supposed To Brush Between My Teeth?

We realize that this always sounds like a smart way to get your smile extra clean (or as a way to get out of flossing). However, it is neither. It is not something you should bother with because it’s difficult and you need to floss daily (it will offer the best results for your oral health).

Am I Supposed To Brush Hard-To-Reach Areas?

While some areas may be harder than others to access, we remind you that if you do not brush them, then plaque will build up and will harden into tartar. Over time, these neglected areas will develop decay and other problems may form. This will lead to a need for restorative care! So, to avoid all manner of complications, we remind you that yes, you need to brush all dental tissue! If you are having trouble with this, ask for help from us and consider trying a toothbrush that reaches more easily.
