Go Texan Parade
Nothing holds closer to home for Texans than the Texas Rodeo. Indeed, it is a sport we as a state have enjoyed for quite some time, and there is not anything that can quite beath the sense of community, energy, and liveliness than that. This Saturday, February 19th the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be hosting the 57th annual Go Texan Parade in Downtown Conroe. This event takes place to celebrate the start of the rodeo and features decorative floats, riders on horseback, and marching bands.
This event is one you do not want to miss, and parade spectators can line the streets starting at 1:00 p.m. to be involved in one of our city’s most popular celebrations. What’s more? Entry to participate is $50 for the first vehicle, $10 for one additional vehicle such as a trailer, and $100 for political entry.
In addition to a love for the rodeo, the chairman is a passionate supporter of the school art committee. Come on out and support your community by partaking in the lively event. More information can be found here on the event website.
Wind Ensemble Concert
If you are looking for a taste of culture and the fine arts, then this next event might just be for you. This Tuesday, February 22, 2022, the SHSU Wind Ensemble, will join talents with the SHSU Chorale to perform from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
The group will perform Stravinsky’s “Mass” in the Payne Concert Hall, and tickets are available in advance for $12, or at the box office for $15 the day of the event. Support your local community and learn more about this event from the event site here.
Mardi Gras Celebration
It’s that time of the year again, as Mardi Gras is finally here! Presented by the Downtown Conroe Area Association, this year’s Mardi Gras Celebration will take place in downtown Conroe at 101 Metcalf St This Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. The event will feature Mainstreet Market, live music, great food, and of course, drinks and Mardi Gras beads!
