Prioritizing Mental Health In Conroe This Week

Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival

Nothing quite says “Texas” more than gathering with friends and loved ones while enjoying some delicious fried catfish. This Friday, October 8-Sunday, October 10, 2021, The Friends of Conroe, Inc. is hosting the annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival. This event occurs yearly the second weekend of October and will occur at Heritage Place, 500 Collins Street.

The event features delicious food, a carnival, musical guests, and an entertainment lineup you do not want to miss. Tickets can be purchased online for $15 each, and you can also get the weekend pass for only $30. Children 12 and under get in free of charge. If you enjoy the community and true Texas culture, come on out!

Dancing to a Different Tune

If you are a fan of the fine arts or simply want to support local students in the Conroe community, then look no further than this event. Dancing to a Different Tune features a tribute to a variety of contemporary as well as classical dance melodies.

A taste of the show will include Brahms’ Hungarian Dance five and six, Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours, Lecuona’s Malegueña, as well as Saint-Saens’ “Bacchanale” from Samson and Dalilah.

CAM Artist Series: Diego Caetano and Friends

This Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 7:30-8:30, come to join the Sam Houston State University College of Arts and Media for a special performance by School of Music faculty performer Diego Caetano on the piano. The Artist Series features guest artist Evgeny Zvonnikov on the violin, along with School of Music faculty performers Daniel Saenz on the cello and Nina Knight on the viola. Tickets are currently available online for $12 or at the box office day-of for $15. The event will take place in the Gaertner Performing Arts Center Recital Hall, located at 815 17th Street and more information can be found here.
