When you’re faced with the decision to schedule a visit for a dental crown, you might find yourself at a bit of a crossroads. You know intuitively that scheduling the care we suggest is best for your smile and your oral health. However, you may feel concerned about different aspects of crowns, most likely because you are lacking information about them. Rather than continue to feel worried and avoid treatment, we suggest you look over some frequently mentioned concerns (and our responses), so you feel confident about upcoming care.
Concerns and Responses: Crowns
Your Concern: I use my teeth so often – how will a dental crown ever hold up, especially on my back teeth?
Our Response: Crowns are crafted out of multiple thin layers of ceramic in a way that results in exceptional durability and strength. As a result, they can withstand even the pressure of daily chewing.
Your Concern: I’m happy that you can save my tooth but I’m so worried about my smile looking bad after you place the crown – can you make me feel better about this worry?
Our Response: Of course. We offer beautiful crowns that we custom craft out of ceramic. This means that we will customize the color of the crown according to your needs and the shape and the dimensions of the crown to fit seamlessly with your smile. Ceramic is translucent and looks similar to natural tooth tissue.
Your Concern: I don’t like the idea of wearing a temporary crown because my schedule is so busy – is there anything I can do to avoid having to wear a temporary?
Our Response: Yes. Depending on your particular needs, you may qualify for a one-visit dental crown, which we will create on-site with the use of a CEREC machine.
