How Many Teeth Should You (Or Your Child) Have?
Have you suddenly realized you’re not sure at all how many teeth an adult should have? Maybe you want to know how many teeth your son or daughter should have. No problem! These types of oral health questions are probably not something you think about regularly, so allow us to fill you in:
- Adults: The final number is 32.
- Children: You can expect a full incoming set of 20 adorable teeth.
- About Wisdom Teeth: Wisdom teeth come in a set of four, contributing to a full adult set of teeth (Translation: You have 28 permanent teeth by the age of 12; then, the additional four that show up when you’re in your early 20s make 32). However, you do not require third molars (so removing them is just fine).
